Summer Program Teachers

The VMS Summer Program Teacher plays a vital role in delivering a creative, balanced, and dynamic summer program offering a wide variety of activities and experiences. Teachers are responsible for running the day-to-day programming for children ages 3–9, providing attentive supervision, positive leadership, and engaging instruction in a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment. This role supports all aspects of campers’ daily routines, including activities, meals, transitions, field trips, and downtime, while ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of every child. Summer Program Teachers collaborate with staff, maintain warm and professional communication with caregivers, participate in required trainings and meetings, complete documentation, and contribute feedback to support continuous program improvement.

Job Requirements:  

• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Prior experience working with children in a camp, school, or similar setting
• Enthusiastic, eager to learn, and open to feedback
• Able to follow guidance and work effectively under supervision
• Strong team player with the ability to contribute to group success
• Comfortable assisting with instruction and leading activities
• Friendly, approachable, and committed to creating a welcoming environment

Applicants must be fully available from June 22 through August 21, 2026, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm unless otherwise discussed with the Head of School

Compensation: $18-$25 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications
