The Teacher plays a vital role in supporting the Lead Teacher in creating a nurturing, respectful, and developmentally appropriate Montessori learning environment. This position involves actively engaging with children, guiding them through daily routines, and supporting their independence, curiosity, and love of learning. The Teacher assists with maintaining a carefully prepared classroom, observes and supports each child’s basic needs and individual growth, and helps children develop respect for self-care routines, including hygiene, toileting, and other daily practices that honor each child’s readiness and comfort.
As a role model and educator, the Teacher reinforces classroom expectations, supports individual and small-group learning, and observes students to understand their developmental needs. They help maintain a calm, organized, and purposeful learning environment, ensuring safety and alignment with Montessori values, while working collaboratively under the Lead Teacher’s guidance.
Job Requirements:
These are full-time, year-round positions. Montessori certification/experience/training is a plus.
Salary range for this position is $45,000-$55,000/year and is determined by the candidates prior experience and working hours. Applicants relocating to Martha’s Vineyard receive a moving stipend.
